Chicken Inasal with Tanglad

We all love that inasal experience where you enjoy munching the chicken while it’s on a stick. Savour each bite as the zesty flavors of the tanglad combines with the grilled texture of the meat. Make sure to prepare batches of these as your family and friends would definitely ask for more. Go ahead and eat your way to the stick as this chicken inasal recipe promises not to disappoint!

Ingredients :

7 servings
6 pc Chicken legs (drumstick and thigh)
For Marinade
1 Head Garlic, crushed
6 stalk Lemon grass, pounded
2 thumb-sized Ginger, sliced
0.75 cup Local white vinegar
0.25 cup Juice from calamansi
1 tsp Whole black peppercorns, cracked
2 tbsp Salt
2 tbsp Brown sugar
1 Chicken cube, dissolved in marinade
0.5 cup Clear softdrink
0.25 cup Melted margarine for basting
Barbecue sticks

Procedure :

    Combine all ingredients for the marinade in a big bowl. Marinate chicken in this mixture overnight.

    The next day, transfer chicken and marinade into a pot. Parboil chicken in marinade for 10 minutes to ensure thorough cooking. Let cool.

    Skewer chicken drumsticks with barbecue sticks. Grill over charcoal and baste with melted margarine until done.
